Rhinoceros, Elephant, Indian bison, Swamp Deer, Samber,
Hog Deer, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Leopard, Leopard cat, Jungle Cat, hog badger,
Capped langur, Hoolock gibbon, Jackal, Goose, Hornbills, Ibis, Cormorants,
Egret, Heron Fishing Eagle etc. During Winter a large number of migratory
birds are seen here.
Kaziranga is 217 kms from Guwahati
and 96 Kms. from Jorhat by road. The nearest airport is Rowraia (Jorhat).
Tourist can fly to Jorhat or can go by car and bus to Kaziranga from Guwahati.
The nearest railway station is Jorhat. 
Kaziranga
National Park, the oldest in Assam lies partly in Golaghat District
and partly in the Nagaon District of Assam. It covers an areas of 430
square kilometre. It is the best home of the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros.
The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged
reeds, marshes & shallow pools. Kaziranga has been declared as a National
Park in 1974.
